A bit of background to NERP
Yup, you’re right – that’s not us above. Way too neat and tidy. We are serious about what we do though – with combined market research spanning two decades – we know our stuff. The National Education Research Panel (NERP) was developed by Richard Connor – C3 Education’s senior partner and head of research.
Like many out there attempting to research schools and colleges, we were finding it harder to reach our exacting profiling and sampling research criteria. NERP was born of this frustration. We needed to bring the educational community into partnership. Our panel solves many of the issues regarding profiling and obtaining improved response rates.
We knew from many educational companies that obtaining no more than 200 responses from a national survey mailing costing £1000s was not uncommon. We also knew that schools could not cope with the number of requests for survey responses coming from an increasing number of sources – from central and local government, agencies, companies, media and a small band of education research houses such as C3 Education.
We had to find a way to engage head teachers, ICT managers and subject specialists. By ensuring that we ask permission to send research requests was a fair start. Therefore in June 2005, C3 Education began a national campaign to recruit our panel.
In addition to obtaining permission we also offered the opportunity for respondents to select a children’s’ charity and donate a nominal fee each time they respond. By ensuring panel members are not over-researched and further ensuring our surveys are well-targeted and professionally created a stable panel has been achieved to the benefit of all researching this sector.
What is NERP?
The National Education Research Panel (NERP) is a network of research contributors spanning over 18,000 teaching professionals..
All subscribers to our panel are profiled to ensure statistically-sound data allowing where relevant the extrapolation of findings to the population. The panel currently includes around 2,700 head teachers or senior managers; 3,700 ICT managers and a wide-range of subject specialists.
Our Prize allocations
As part of our incentive to schools we provide a range of prize draw opportunities. Find out the latest information and winners here.
